What is a Refillery?

A refillery is a retail store offering household and personal care products in bulk, helping eliminate the need for single use packaging. These items are usually sold by the ounce, and customers are encouraged to bring their own containers to be used over and over again. 
Why are refilleries important?
It's important because, refilling reduces waste, especially, plastic waste. We continue to produce more and more plastics but are only recycling between 5-10% of the plastic we throw away. A simple start is to ditch the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mindset that focuses on recycling, and switch to a “reduce, reuse, REFILL” mindset. By choosing to reuse your containers rather than recycle them or tossing them in the garbage we can start to overturn the damage that plastics, and the toxins they create, have done to our health and our home.
So.. how do I start refilling?
There are so many ways to begin this process before you even get to the refillery. Awareness is key. Remember to keep that old jelly or pasta jar, clean it out and you're halfway there. Scroll down for a calendar of events to see where I will be each week. If you can't make it to the event or are in a bind, schedule a delivery and I'll come to you. I've made it easy for everyone, so it's nearly impossible to find an excuse not to start!
